Production
So far my team’s production schedule has been going well. Everyone has been able to keep to what is require of them for the three sprints that we have had and some of us, myself included, have been able to have time to work ahead.
As I was tasked with working on the microgames, cutscene animations and the UI art, my main focus for the first three sprints were to get UI and a few game assets sketched and created. At the moment, I have been able to get the backgrounds of several microgames completed. Most of them were simple designs as to not be confusing to the player during the fast pace microgames. Thankfully the assets were also easy to create so I spent most of my time creating them after the backgrounds. Being ahead of schedule for myself is even better as now I have more time to put into working on the sketches and layout of the cutscene animations which my group has decided is something that must definitely be in the game by the end of production.
To give some insight on my sketching to development process with drawing here are some sketches in how I was creating the UI elements.
This was my proposed changed to the Meltdown progress where instead of a simple UI element was to include a worker with a background poster that shows the amount of days aka lives that the player has before the Meltdown occurs. Whether or not we go through with this direction will be seen later
Below is the current title screen for our game without start buttons.
